11.3. Advanced Glycation End Products (AGEs) excerpts:
This section explains how cookies, candy (some candy are pure drugs, avoid all candy), chips, many cereal brands, highly processed meats, junk foods, dairy, pizzas contain 10-900 times more deadly AGEs than healthy foods (stuff you boil in water or cook in a pressure cooker under water at 240-350°F, produce, puffed cereals). We need to ban these Weapons of Mass Destruction disguised as “junk foods in shiny or colorful packages”, just as we ban mold, lead, cocaine, dirty bombs, cyanide. Tax 900% first, ban later. 61 million people die yearly. High AGEs foods shorten life by 12 years on average (some lose 40 years, others only 1 due to eating 40 times less AGEs), so 9 million deaths are due to AGEs, i.e. due to Dry COOKING, Dry Heat PROCESSING. The next 2 pages present studies on AGEs, before the discussion on the AGE levels in foods and possible ways to reform the corrupt and low tech low IQ food industry. AGE levels are shown in Table 1. AGEs form free radicals inn the blood which cause oxidative stress and damage all cells in the body.☺☺☺
PNAS 1994;91(11):4766-70 found that plaque fractions of Alzheimer's brains contained about 3 times more AGEs, no wonder with the increase of overly oxidized cooked fatty junk food (which can have over 100 times more AGEs) we have seen a 89% rise in Alzheimer disease since 2000. Methylglyoxal is able to induce protein glycation leading to the formation of AGEs and is believed to be the most important source of AGEs. "Methylglyoxal is not only capable of increasing the rate of production of β-amyloid β-sheets, oligomers and protofibrils but also of increasing the size of the aggregates... AGEs were colocalized with amyloid plaques… Aβ-AGE was more toxic than Aβ in decreasing cell viability, increasing cell apoptosis, inducing tau hyperphosphorylation, and reducing synaptic proteins”. ☺☺☺ Oxidation of sugars leads to glyoxal, methylglyoxal, which can lead to carboxymethyllysine and other AGEs. Methylglyoxal, AGEs may cause autism: Med Hypotheses 2012;78(4):548-52. Kilhovd reported increased serum AGEs in diabetic persons with ischemic heart disease compared to patients without. AGEs accumulate in atherosclerotic lesions. AGEs promote the death of blood vessel cells called endothelial cells ► Bioch Bioph Res Com 2006;344(2):658-66. AGEs prevent the production of nitric oxide (NO is hypothesized to relax and dilate vessels, thus lowering blood pressure), thereby causing hypertension; AGEs diminish the activity of nitric oxide synthase, blocking the synthesis of nitric oxide by endothelial cells. Similar to pericytes in the retina, whose survival is impaired by AGEs, kidney blood vessel cells called mesangial cells are killed by AGEs ► Biomolecules 2015;5(1):194-222. Insulin making β cells (pancreas) die due to AGEs ► Ann N Y Acad Sci 2008;1150:311-5, leading to diabetes. ☺☺☺
AGEs-RAGE interactions stimulated the growth of human pancreatic cancer cells. AGEs stimulated the growth and migration of cultured human melanoma cells, increased levels of AGEs and RAGE in colorectal cancer ► Med Hypotheses 2005;64(6):1208-10. Evidence supports AGEs involvement in cancer, Alzheimer, osteoporosis, etc ► Mol Med 2015;21(Suppl1):S32-40. Pentosidine is an AGE used as a biomarker for all AGEs, due to its ability to fluoresce ► “serum or urine pentosidine levels are now being used to estimate future fracture risk in osteoporosis and diabetes” ► Osteopo Int 2010;21(2):195-214. Dietary AGE consumption was associated with 43% higher risk of pancreatic cancer in men ► Am J Clin Nutr 2015;101(1):126-34. AGE receptor overexpression has been linked to cancers of the colon, larynx, tongue, stomach, and mouth ► PLoS One 2014;9(10):e110542. Cancer malignancy is enhanced by glyceraldehyde-derived AGEs ► J Oncol 2010:739852. ☺☺☺ As we get older, our capacity to eliminate AGEs diminishes; AGEs accumulate inside our muscles, bones, tendons, ligaments, destroying the collagen (30% of protein in our body) and elastin structures Eur Rev Aging Phys Act 2016; 13:3 and leading to slow/painful movement and more fractures, as everything becomes more disconnected and brittle, less elastic, less strong ► J Diabet Invest 2017;8(3):377-82, less able to execute axon impulse, as neurons get damaged too; the more AGEs we eat, the slower/more painful our movements will be as we get older ► J Appl Physiol 1985;103(6):2068-76. Those with more AGEs can have twice the risk of dying from heart disease ► Aging Clin Exp Res 2009;21(2): 182-90. The more AGE methylglyoxal in the blood, the faster the cognitive decline ► Neurology 2011;77(14):1351-6 & Mech Ageing Dev 2011;132(11-12):583-7. High AGE foods double CRP (C-reactive protein) (0.42 instead of 0.21) and increase arterial stiffness, increasing risk of arterial rupture and cardiac death ► NMCD 2017;27(11):978-84. Hearing loss is associated with high AGE intake ► J Am Med Dir Assoc 2018;19(3):235-9. Kidney malfunction is linked to high AGE diet ► Diabetes Care 2018;41(6):1292-4.
Am J Clin Nutr 2017;106(1):162-7 found those eating french fries twice a week (fries have 90 times more AGEs than boiled potatoes) have 2 times the death risk of those eating boiled potatoes, and 2.3 times the risk if they ate french fries more than twice a week. Fried eggs doubled the risk of bladder cancer, while boiled ones did not, could it be those lethal AGEs? ► Nutr Cancer 2013; 65(4):538-46. This is not surprising since Table 1 above shows fried eggs have 30x more AGEs than 5 min poached eggs. "Toast bread to the lightest color acceptable" says the NIH website, adding "Cook potato strips, such as french fries, to a golden yellow rather than a golden brown color" for the same reason, it generates carcinogenic acrylamide, AGEs.
Dry heat not only forms AGEs, but deadly oxysterols. Redox Biol 2013;1(1):125-30 found "24-OH and 27-OH were not the only two oxysterols increased, the levels of 7α-OH, 7β-OH, β-EPOX and 7K also being increased two-fold in Parkinson's disease brains versus control brains... a mixture of oxysterols stemming from the heating of dietary cholesterol, comprising 7-K, 7α-OH, 7β-OH, α-EPOX and β-EPOX, led differentiated human epithelial colonic cells (CaCo-2 cells) to apoptotic death.."24-OH, 27-OH, 25-OH are very good ligands of LXRs and farnesoid X receptors (FXRs), whose hyperactivation is now recognized as implicated in both diabetes mellitus and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease". Heating dietary cholesterol turns it into oxidized cholesterol or oxysterols. No wonder, in one study, vegans had 3 times less Alzheimer than animal food eaters, since animal foods alone have cholesterol. Vegans eat no oxidized cholesterol, have 73 times lower diabetes mortality than heavy meat eaters. Could this 73 fold difference be because non-vegans eat more oxysterols, AGEs? Vegans eat less fat (meat, cheese have fat) and fatty foods form AGEs during dry heat cooking. Plant sterols are less toxic since they are not in the human brain; the body produces cholesterol daily, and cholesterol is different than plant sterols. Processed meat increases colorectal cancer risk by up to 50% ► Nutr Cancer 2008;60(2):131-44.
HOW TO FIX THE LETHAL FOOD INDUSTRY & Comparisons of Food AGEs Levels:
Biomed Res Int;2014:238485 found "Dry heat promotes AGE formation by > 10- to 100-fold above the uncooked state across food categories. Animal-derived foods that are high in fat and protein are generally AGE-rich and prone to new AGE formation during cooking (especially grilling, broiling, roasting, searing, frying). In contrast, carbohydrate-rich foods such as vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and milk contain few AGEs, even after cooking (as long as they use a lot of water, not frying, grilling to oxidize in air)...” Thus, we need avoid DRY HEAT. ☺☺☺
Dry heat not only poisons the food, but also our lungs. People living near restaurants that grill and fry foods excessively have been found to have a higher incidence of lung cancer and PAH exposure ► BMC Pul Med 2017;17:41, PLoS One 2016;11(2): e0148641. Env Hlth Persp 2012;120: 910-5 found high level PAHs may even cause birth defects. Because these foods sold, with full awareness of the toxins, are violent crimes of causing intentional organ failure, strokes, heart attacks, diabetes, kidney damage, death, Alzheimer, the immortalist government needs to give these huge companies a 2-7 year deadline (2 for the most lethal products, 7 for the least consumed and least lethal) to remove these products by investing in wet heat cooking methods, which requires retooling the entire food industry, at a gigantic cost, obtained by state of emergency freeze of all salaries to the average salary as a compromise penalty for genocides done prior. If we prosecute any slap and violence with death penalty or lifetime labor (mining copper, etc) during the state of emergency, so will death penalty apply to all leadership of any company not complying, besides the immediate closure of the companies or shut down, bankruptcy and takeover by Eterni Food Inc, who would retool these companies. Equal justice for all. Governments who are preimmortalist, and not into the radical state of emergency, can covertly gradually triple the prices of bad high AGE foods until the full Eternal Ban, so all are slowly deaddicted, buying less junk each month.
